Over the years it has become apparent
that by using dogs as an additional aid there is a very strong
deterrent effect in the case of theft, trespass, vandalism &
assault. The view is that by using one
dog & one handler you gain the
equivalent of several static guards. This is due to the unique
scenting, hearing & restraining of a fully trained canine.
The advantage of a trained dog & handler is the effectiveness of a
dogs sense of smell, all of our dogs have been trained to wind
scent, this ensures that they can detect anyone at a long distance & can alert the handler of a potential intruder or trespasser. An
obvious advantage would be the capture & detainment of such an
individual without incident. As we are sure you would agree, there are
very few that would wish to challenge a guard dog or be able to out
run one!
Our current contracts vary from static guards at building sites or
office blocks to mobile patrols, other work has included events &
festivals where our dog handlers were used for both crowd control &
ground protection. Although our dogs have been trained to attack on
command this is only ever in a protective capacity & only happens
on rare or extreme occasions for example, if the handlers themselves
are at risk or under threat.
